Apprenticeship in Glazing

Window Workshop are offering a full Apprenticeship in Glazing and provide on the job training. As an Apprentice, you would be expected to participate fully in the project work undertaken by Window Workshop - you will gain experience in onsite installations of windows, doors and conservatories and on surveys. On a daily basis, the successful candidate will work effectively as part of a team to ensure a smooth-running installation process on site. 

This apprenticeship is offered with a view to the apprentice becoming a valued member of our team. Once the apprenticeship has concluded we wish to employ candidates that have proved themselves.

Desired Skills:

The successful applicant would benefit from being a practical person as the work carried out within this role is highly practical. You will have keen attention to detail, pride in your work and the ability to work well independently.

Other skills may include:

  • Able to cope with the physical aspects of the role;
  • Ability to read measurements from orders and on tape measures to ensure all work is of the highest standard;
  • Confident in gaining new knowledge and skills every day in the workplace and remembering these new skills as you develop in the role.

Personal Qualities:

We are looking for a hard-working, reliable and trustworthy candidate. Working well within a team and being able to use your initiative along with asking questions when you are unsure would also be welcome.

  • Being professional at all times, in all that you do;
  • Willingness to learn new skills;
  • On time, every time for work to ensure everything runs smoothly as you become an integral part of the team.

Training to be Provided:

The Apprenticeship in Fenestration Installation consists of:

  • NVQ Diploma in Fenestration Installation;
  • Technical Certificate;
  • Functional Skills in Maths and English ;

Working Week:

30+ hours per week

Monday to Friday (Optional Saturday)

Any hours worked above the 30 hours will be paid at the appropriate national apprentice minimum wage

National apprentice minimum wage + Bonus pay scheme for good attendance and conduct

Things to Consider:

Paid holiday entitlement is 28 days (including bank holidays) each year during the course of your apprenticeship. Compulsory shut down during Christmas/New Year period to be taken from entitlement.
