Wombwell Jobcentre

By Train

Wombwell railway station is on the Hallam and Penistone Lines, meaning the town is served by regular trains from Barnsley, as well as from smaller surrounding towns and suburbs, including Elsecar.

If you arrive by train, you need to exit the station and follow the approach road onto Hough Lane. Turn left here and follow this road straight ahead for around 15 minutes. You will then see Kings Road on your right, so turn down here. After a few moments you will then find the local Jobcentre Plus in Wombwell on the left-hand-side of the street.

By Bus

Regular buses connect Wombwell with Barnsley and plenty of smaller locations across South Yorkshire. Popular services include the 22 from Barnsley, Doncaster and Mexborough, the 226 from Barnsley and Goldthorpe, and the 200 from Lundwood and Cudworth.

If you travel by bus, then you need to get off in the centre of Wombwell, on Hough Lane, at the stop for Windsers Place. From here, with Windsers Place on your right, carry straight down Hough Lane and you will see the turning for Kings Road, also on the right, after around 5 minutes.

Travelling by Car

Kings Road is directly off the main B6096, which runs through the centre of Wombwell. By car, then, you should take the A6195 to Wombwell and then follow the signs for the town centre, along the B6096. When you arrive in the town centre, look out for the turning onto Kings Road just at the point where Hough Lane becomes Church Street.
