Sunderland Jobcentre Plus

By Train

Getting to the local job centre from the main Sunderland railway station is both quick and very easy.

From the station, you just need to exit and then follow the approach road round to the left onto Holmeside. Go left, passing the City Library, onto Borough Road and then, after a few moments, you will see John Street on your left. Turn down here and, after a minute's walking, you will then see the local Jobcentre Plus right in front of you.

By Bus

Lots of buses run into Sunderland town centre, providing regular links with surrounding suburbs as well as with Durham, Newcastle and Middlesbrough.

If you're travelling by bus, you should get off at the main Sunderland railway station. From here, it's just a short walk to the local job centre, following the above directions onto Borough Road and then John Street.

Travelling by Car

John Street is very easy to reach by car as it's just off the main A1018, which runs into the centre of Sunderland and provides excellent links with surrounding towns and suburbs.

If you're driving, then, you need to follow the A1018 into Sunderland and right by the Wearmouth Bridge you will be able to turn into the town centre, onto Bridge Street. Follow this into the centre and the one-way system will bring you onto John Street right by the City Library.
