Job Centre: Kirkwall
Kirkwall Jobcentre Plus
Kirkwall does not have a railway station, so if you are travelling to the job centre from other parts of the island and need to rely on public transport to get there, you will have to take the bus.
Daily buses connect Kirkwall with a number of places across the Orkney Islands. Daily services include the X1 and X10 from Stromness, Finstown and Holm.
All buses into the town stop on Pickaquoy Road, which is where you should get off. From here, with the waterfront to your left, follow the road to the small roundabout and turn left. After a few moments you will come to Tankerness Lane on the right. Turn down here and you will then see the Government Buildings right in front of you.
Travelling by Car
The Government Buildings on Tankerness Lane are located right off the main A693, which runs through the centre of Kirkwall and connects the town with other parts of the islands. So, simply follow this main road into the town centre and, just as you reach the waterfront, you will be able to turn straight off onto Tankerness Road.
