By Train
Getting from the train station to the job centre in Durham is easy, requiring just a 20-minute walk through the centre of the city.
Upon exiting the station, carry on down Station Approach onto the main road. Follow this left, across the river, into the city centre, passing the Town Hall on your left. Cary straight on until you reach a small roundabout. Bear right here and follow New Elvet over the river again. Then take a left down Old Elvet and finalllt take the first left again down Hallgarth Street. After just a couple of minutes you will see Elvet House on your left.
By Bus
If you're travelling into Durham by bus then get off at the main bus station, located on New Street in the centre of the city. From here, exit and follow New Street to the small roundabout. Turn right down North Road and carry straight on, across the river. After the bridge, bear right down Moatside Lane and then cross over Saddler Street onto Elvet Bridge. This will take you across the river again and after a couple of minutes you will see Hallgarth Street on the right. Turn down here and you will soon see the job centre in Durham.
Travelling by Car
The best way of getting to the job centre if you're travelling by car is to follow the either the A691 - if you're coming from the west - or the A690 - if you're coming from the east - into the city centre. Follow the main road until you come to the junction for the New Elvet Bridge. Turn down here and turn off onto New Elvet and then Hallgarth Street.
There are several short-stay car parks in the city centre, though you will have to pay a small fee to park there.
