Getting to Blackwood Job Centre

Blackwood does not have its own railway station, though the station at neighbouring Penggam – which offers links into the centre of Cardiff as well as to Rhymney – is within walking distance of the local job centre.

To get to the job centre from the station, either take a local bus into the town, or exit the station and take a right down High Street. Follow this road for around 10 minutes. When you reach the main junction with Pengam Road, cross straight over onto Waun Borfa Road and then bear left on the public footpath into town, where you eventually come out onto Central Avenue.

From here, follow Central Avenue for around 5 minutes and then turn right at the roundabout onto Addisson Street and, at the end, take a left onto Twynyffald Road and then the first right onto Cefn Road. Keep going down Cefn Road until you reach South View Road on your left. Go down here and then take a right at the end to go down Pentwyn Road. At the end of this road, you will come onto Blackwood High Street and see your local job centre straight in front of you.

By Bus

Blackwood enjoys good public transport links with the local area, with some buses stopping almost right outside on High Street. If you're travelling into the town from Pengam or Cefn Forest, then you need to take the number 12 bus to High Street, while the number 6 also offers quick and easy connections to the job centre from Wylie, Ystrad Mynach and Nelson.

Travelling by Car

The Blackwood job centre is just a short distance from the main A4048, as well as the A4049, offering good links with Markham and other small villages in the valley. The A472 also runs into the town, making the job centre easy to get to from Ystrad Mynach as well as Maesycwmmer. Use these main roads to get into the town centre and then head to the B4251, which merges with High Street, where you will find it.
