Getting to Atherton Jobcentre
By Train
Atherton does have its own train station, though this is located around a mile from the local Jobcentre Plus, so factor in an extra 20 minutes to your planned travel time to allow you to walk there.
So, upon arrival at the station, turn left and walk to the end of Upton Road. At the busy intersection, turn right and walk down Bolton Road for around 15 minutes, carrying on as it turns into Nealhouse Lane. Eventually, you will see a small street Hampson Street to your left. Cross over and walk down that street onto Market Street and then turn right. After around 150m you will see the job centre in Atherton on your right.
By Bus
Atherton benefits from excellent bus links with most surrounding parts of Greater Manchester, including several regular services into the city centre itself as well as the 582 bus to Bolton and the 25 to Salford.
All buses into Atherton from the surrounding areas stop on Market Street. If you're going to the local job centre, you need to get off at the stop for the Punch Bowl pub on Market Street and you will see the Jobcentre building right in front of you.
Travelling by Car
The Atherton job centre is situated just off the A577, which links the suburb with Over Hulton, Haslam Park and Bolton to the north and West Houghton, Hindley and Wigan to the west. To the south, the A579 runs into Leigh, while just two minutes to the north is the M61 motorway.
If you're travelling by car, you can either park at the Atherton train station or try and find a pay-and-display spot in the town centre.
