Getting to Ammanford Jobcentre
Ammanford has its own small railway station, located just a short distance from the local job centre. To get to the job centre, simply exit onto Station Road and go right, continuing round the bend and then taking Talbot Road, which you should see almost immediately on your right. Head to the end of Talbot Road and then go left until you reach a main road. Go right down here – High Street – and, when the road forks, take the small, narrow lane directly ahead of you, with the Old Cross Inn pub to your left.
Follow this down to a roundabout, cross over and continue on straight ahead down Quay Street and then, at the next roundabout, start going right and you will see your local Jobcentre almost straight away.
Ammanford can be reached by bus from a number of local towns and villages. For example, the 40 links the town with Ystradgynlais, Brynaman and Gurnos, while the 123 connects it with Brynamman, Garnant and Glanaman. Also, the X13 provides regular links to Swansea city centre.
All buses terminate or stop at the Ammanford bus station, located on High Street. So, if you travel to your local job centre by bus, alight at the bus station and take a left down high street and onto Quay Street, following the above directions.
Travelling by Car
The Ammanford Jobcentre Plus building is located just metres from the A483, so follow this main road into the town centre if you are travelling in from surrounding areas such as Tycroes or Llandybie. Also running into the town centre is the A474, which provides quick links to the west of Ammanford, including to Garnant and Pontardawe.
Free parking is available in Ammanford town centre, though you are only allowed to stay for a maximum of four hours.
