Jobcentre Plus is a part of the Department for Work and Pensions from the UK Government.
We have made it easy for you to find your local jobcentre by searching on the letter of the town or city closest to where you live.
We also have career guides and ideas to help you get back into employment or switch careers and are building up a quality resource section for you.
Every jobcentre comes with a local phone number and a map to show you its location, other job centers are shown that are in the area. We would encourage everyone who is out of work to contract their local jobcentreplus and use the skills of the people employed at each location.
Key Objectives of JobCentrePlus:
- Increase the effective supply of labour by promoting work as the best form of welfare and helping unemployed and economically inactive people move into employment
- Work towards equality of outcomes for ethnic minority people
- Pay people the correct benefit, on time, whilst protecting the state benefit system from fraud, mistakes and exploitation while at the same time ensuring that those on working benefits fulfill their obligations
- Provide a first rate services to employers, to help them fill their new and existing job vacancies swiftly and successfully with primed and motivated employees to suit
- To provide assistance to members of the public who have social or medical issues compete efficiently and successfully in gaining employment and ensuring they remain in work
- Continual improvement of all services on offer to the UK public via increased productivity, efficiency and effectiveness
- Continued appropriate help and support for all job seekers to help them back to work
